Apple Day Festival on the Isle of Wight
Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th September 2007

The picturesque setting of Afton Park in the West Wight attracts thousands of visitors for its annual Apple Day Festival.

The idea of this popular event came from the environmental charity, Common Ground as a way to celebrate the English orchards, apples and apple traditions.

There are a wide range of stalls, craft stands, demonstrations and food on the menu - many of which have an apple theme.

Apple Day Activities

Families can help with the harvesting, taste freshly pressed apple juice and dine on apple & parsnip soup or freshly baked apple cake.

For the horticulurally inclined there are and a well stocked plant nursery with many apple tree varieties available on the day.

The Apple Day event has captured people's imagination, with young and old, locals and visitors attracted to the age-old traditions of harvesting and celebrating Orchards as very special places.
